GOES TO OLGA GASHI
WORD PERFECT TRANSLATIONS
February 28th, 2007: Olga Gashi (28), Joint Managing Director of Word Perfect Translation Services Ltd, has been named Image Magazine’s Young Businesswoman of the Year, 2007.
Olga started Word Perfect Translations, a linguistic assistance company, with her husband, Jimmy Gashi in 2001. Olga has worked to develop a unique operating model - providing translators to clients within 30 minutes of call-out – which has given Word Perfect a distinct advantage over its competitors. She has also been involved in the development of a specific qualification for community translation with Dublin City College which trains translators and interpreters to deal with the urgent translation requirements of clients.
Commenting on the award, Olga said: “This is fantastic recognition for what has been achieved at Word Perfect. I hope it encourages other women of all ages, to pursue their goals and refuse to be restrained by glass ceilings or family restrictions”.
“Business is a tough arena, where exceptions are not made on the basis of gender. Anyone wishing to succeed must simply be strategic in their approach, work hard and let nothing distract them from their aim,” she added.
